Could Harrison Ford be Returning for BLADE RUNNER 2?

Hey guys! Horrorella here...

Rumors of a BLADE RUNNER sequel have been circulating among fans for what seems like forever. And with Ridley Scott committing to a slew of new films, including the upcoming THE COUNSELOR, EXODUS (which will begin filming next year), and potential PROMETHEUS sequels, who knows if/when any other projects will be getting off the ground.

But it sounds like a BLADE RUNNER sequel might not be as far on the back burner as we may have once thought. In a recent interview with IGN, Harrison Ford revealed that he has been in contact with Ridley Scott regarding the potential film and the idea of jumping back into the role of Deckard.

Yeah, we’ve been chatting about it…I truly admire Ridley as a man and as a director, and I would be very happy to engage again with him in the further telling of this story.

And while Ford acknowledges that making the first film was a complicated affair, and that there were decisions made that he disapproved of and aspects that he was unhappy with in the theatrical version, it sounds like they would not keep him away from the role for a second go-around.

I'm not there to generate nostalgic moments, I'm there to do a job of work...I quite understand that everyone has an ambition when they come into a film and everone's ambition may not be so focused on the same thing.

But no details were given as to the capacity that Deckard would play in the storyline (at one point, Scott stated that he would not be the main character).  And, obviously this doesn't mean that the film is any closer to fruition, but it is exciting to hear that, not only is Ford open to reprising the role, but that it's something that he and Scott have been actively discussing.

What do you guy think?
