Just when you thought you'd heard enough about APPOFENIACS...
Chris Marrs Piliero's Fantastic Fest breakout film is currently in theaters and on-demand, and though we've already covered it here several times, there's still more story to tell. This time, we're getting Jermaine Fowler's impressions of working on the film, because why would we pass up the chance to talk to such a versatile entertainer.
Fowler has been making a name for himself on screens big and small since 2012 when he first started appearing as a regular commentator on MTV's GUY CODE. His breakout performance was that of Prince Akeem's illegitimate son in the legacy sequel COMING 2 AMERICA in 2021, and he's been going strong ever since in roles both comedic and dramatic.
He recalls his turn in APPOFENIACS as true independent film work, marveling at the on-set effects and collaborative nature of the shoot. He also is excited to bring the BARBERSHOP series to the small screen next year in the lead role, as well as executive producer.
APPOFENIACS is currently in theeaters and on-demand, and BARBERSHOP is slated for a February 10, 2027 release on Prime Video.
