Freddy Beans here with the new HOBBS AND SHAW trailer.
This looks like a fucking lot of fun! Hobbs and Shaw are the new Tango and Cash, with a much larger budget. Even though this one is based in the Fast and Furious world, I’m happy they’re making it a stand-alone feature. There’s an undeniable chemistry at work just from the trailer alone.
From what I can tell Luke Hobbs (Dewayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) are forced to work together to save humanity. They must get through the SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN (Idris Elba in his best X-Men costume) in order to save us all. Plenty of amusing comedic situations level off the assumed nonstop action and we leave happy with a bowl full of popcorn.
I should have prefaced this article with the fact that I’m not a very big FAST AND FURIOUS fan. I watched the first three and pretty much gave up on seeing anything new or interesting on screen.
It’s not that I hate the series, it just holds fleeting interest. I can’t be the only one who would rather watch a set of ‘wacky races’ from Hanna-Barbera, or am i?
That said, I love the direction this one is headed. I’d love a SPLIT ending, where everything seems proper at the ending. Have Axel Foley come out and do his laugh as the credits roll. Oh the possibilities!
