I've found Terrence Malick to be frustrating. He shoots undeniably beautiful films, but often they miss the mark. This true story is about an Austrian that refused to kill for the Fascist NAZIS in World War II. Quite the story for these days, when each citizen has to ask themselves the morality of what our leadership asks of us. It is a fine thing to remind ourselves that we're each individuals with our own soul to damn or to let soar. Check out the trailer:
It has that stunning photography that Malick is known for, hopefully the story of real life peasant farmer, Franz Jägerstätter, will be everybit as stunning when it is released December 13th, 2019
