Last night during the Oscars, they premiered the first teaser for Netflix and Martin Scorsese's "THE IRISHMAN." Scorsese's "THE IRISHMAN" stars Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Al Pacino, Harvey Keitel, Ray Romano, Anna Paquin, and many more. The stellar talent behind this film is backed by over a hundred and fifty million dollars courtesy of Netflix. This gives Scorsese a budget bigger than the one he was given for "HUGO" and makes this the biggest financed film of his long career. The reason for the massive budget is the film will involve VFX company Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) doing quite a bit of de-aging on star Robert De Niro as the film spans several decades of the life of hitman Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran. Sheeran committed over 25 hits and is said to be the man who disappeared Jimmy Hoffa.

"THE IRISHMAN" is set to be released by Netflix in theaters at some point in the Fall of this year and I assume it will be available via streaming as well. I adore Scorsese's work and am eager to see what he does with such an incredible budget, and as always no one can rock a gangster film quite like him.
