That pesky alien avoiding cat, has dug up some coverage of Superman Lives while stretching out on the carpet in front of the ol boob tube. Seems Nick Cage is beginning the spin on Superman Lives, and well... quite frankly, it's intriguing. Like I said a few weeks back, until I see the new script, I'm cautiously optimistic. I love Tim Burton, though I am having trouble placing him in charge of directing Superman, but I do like his films. We'll have to wait and see. God, I want this film to not suck, but to blow me away. What say ye insiders?
Jonsey here to report on some news on the upcoming "Superman" movie. Nic Cage was on Leno last night and once and for all confirmed that he will play Superman, and filming will beginning in about 3 months from now on July 17. Okay, everybody probably already knows that. In fact, it has to be embedded in the foreheads of geeks everywhere. But one thing that was in question was whether or not the costume we know and love would change. Well, yes and no. The style and colors will remain the same, but the texture will be different (meaning no more 50% cotton/50% poly). It will be similar to the costume Batman wears, only more flexable. Nic was okay with everything about the costume, except for the red underwear on the outside. He thought that it would make him look like a flame or something. So he told the people at Warners to nix the panties, and they happily obliged. Man, the bitches at Warner Bros must be real tight with pimp-daddy Cage to go against 60 years of tradition. But luckily, there is someone who's in tighter with ol' Kal El who persuaded him to keep the under-roo's. His 7 year old son. Once Nic showed the concept drawing to his son, the lad immediately threw down the Man of Steel and told him that he couldn't be Superman unless he had the red underwear on the outside. The kid must have been packing some Kryptonite or something, cause the next day Nic went back to the WB executives and demanded they put the shiny red underwear back where it belongs.
