Happy belated Thanksgiving to all! Disney dropped a teaser for the new “live-action” LION KING on the holiday!
Though this brings back some nostalgic feels in me, it really made me just want to watch the animated movie again. I got this slight inkling that Disney is more so doing these live-action remakes for the adults these days than for the kids. Because many adults want their kids to grow up exactly as they did and share the same influences, and will more likely take their kids to relive the experience. Because it’s live-action, it’s more suitable for an adult to like it, right? And because it’s live-action, they can change just enough but keep it exactly the same so no one bitches about it. I mean, you have to hand it to Disney, this is some safe money generation.
I’ll be honest, I’m biting and I want to know what the remake will be like. If it turns out to be another near shot-by-shot remake like BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, well, I’ll probably hate that this is what is happening, but I’ll just cope.
I’m afraid this teaser made me more grumpy than excited. Still shaking off that holiday itis.
