Cartoon Network made a tweet today that left STEVEN UNIVERSE fans reeling. They finally announced the return of the show.

Man, what do you wanna bet it’s going to be like two episodes before the show goes on hiatus again? STEVEN UNIVERSE is well known for its staggering/nonsensical schedule on Cartoon Network airing five episodes in a week and then going on hiatus for more than half a year at a time. At this point a lot of folk have given up on the show, but I’m still hanging in there.
There’s a lot going on in this poster, but the most notable aspect is Steven is dressed as his mother. Second, Connie somehow has Rose’s sword again, even after Blue Diamond crushed it!
I’m looking forward to seeing more of White Diamond and how much of a psychopath they’re building her up to be. Creator Rebecca Sugar sort of gave away the main villain development about what diamond will be by saying “Let’s put it this way: On a show where problems are solved by communicating your feelings, the ultimate unsolvable problem would be related to that”, which she then followed with “I’ve said too much.”
The show returns December 17th!
