The Austin Power series, which focuses on a 60's secret agent being frozen and then thawed out in the modern day, is generally well-regarded among comedy fans and has always been profitable (600+ million dollars worldwide on a very small total budget).
So, there have been talks of bringing the British secret agent spoof back for a fourth installment for years. Well, the main creative force behind the series and Austin Powers himself, Mike Myers just reignited the conversation about returning the swinging 60's parody to the big screen.
Myers spoke with Access at the premiere of BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY and stated,
"[Austin Powers films] take a long time to write, they always have. [Director] Jay [Roach] has been super-crazy [busy]." When Access pressed him about a fourth installment, Myers replied, "It's looking good."
