The DC film universe is in a state of uncertainty to say the very least. It's a mess of cancelled projects, competing concepts, and constantly changing release dates.
In all that confusion, it's easy to forget that there are plans to make a film based on former Batman sidekick turned full-fledge vigilante, Nightwing. Early last year, Chris McKay (LEGO BATMAN) was announced as the director. Since then there were all sorts of rumors about who would be playing the former Robin in the titular role. At one point there was even word that they were doing open casting calls to look for the man who would be Dick Grayson.
But eventually. all the murmurs about the project fell silent and there hasn't been a word on it in months. Well, yesterday a twitter user hit McKay up and asked what the latest on this situation is. Here is a screenshot of McKay's response:
So, he says it's still happening but I didn't get a feeling of confidence from his reply. It feels like the project is as shaky as every other DC film currently in early development.
