WONDER WOMAN sequel pushed back to 2020!

WONDER WOMAN '84 is one of the few DC Comics film project to have a sense of real anticipation from audiences. The film was well received critically and was a sizable financial hit for Warner Bros. It was such a success that all of the key cast and crew have returned and the fanbase has been supportive of all the announced news and promotional material concerning the sequel.

Well THR reported today that the anticipation for the the sequel will have to go on a bit longer as the film has had it's release date moved back  seven months, giving it the new release date of June 5th 2020.

Here's what director Patty Jenkins had to say about the date change:

"We had tremendous success releasing the first Wonder Woman film during the summer, so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did,"

Seems  simple enough but interestingly, before the date change WONDER WOMAN '84 was set to open up just a few weeks after the upcoming Joker film. So, it looks like WB/DC did not want to cannibalize any of their possible box office.

What do you guys think? Excited for the sequel? Indifferent? Let us know!
