HELLBOY Reboot Release Pushed Back!

Morning, geeks!

Looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer before we can see Big Red on the screen again. HELLBOY’s release was pushed back from January to April 12, 2019, Summit Entertainment announced Wednesday.

David Harbor of STRANGER THINGS is in the role of Hellboy himself, while the lovely Milla Jovovich plays villain as Nimue the Blood Queen.

The HELLBOY team will be at New York City Comic Con, causing speculation that the first trailer could premier there.

Mike Mignola, who created HELLBOY, penned the script with Andrew Cosby and Christopher Golden.

The Hollywood Reporter had the story first, but something in their coverage is a little confusing. In their video coverage, although they are calling it a reboot, it is supposed to follow up the first two films?

Apparently Guillermo Del Toro backed out of the project which was to be the third installment of the HELLBOY series, when they wouldn’t let him use his own script. Ron Perlman refused to reprise his role as Hellboy because Del Toro wasn’t involved. Instead, Neil Marshall directing. It just kind of became a reboot from there.
