Let’s look into the sequel that no one asked for: MARY POPPINS RETURNS!
Though some of the newly cast roles feel forced, it looks like they managed to capture a lot of the color and whimsy that is MARY POPPINS in this sequel. Dick Van Dyke is still dancing and that’s rather impressive considering that he did the last movie over 50 years ago, and is now pushing the age of 92! However, he is obviously not reprising his role as Bert as a younger man has replaced him. In the original, Van Dyke also filled the role of Mr. Dawes Senior, and in the sequel he is Mr. Dawes Junior!
Unfortunately, Julie Andrews will not be making an appearance in MARY POPPINS RETURNS.
MARY POPPINS RETURNS hits theaters December 19th!
