The film, which our Annette Kellerman has already given a glowing review for way back in March, is based on the novel by Nic Pizzolatto ("True Detective"), and is written for the screen and directed by Mélanie Laurent (RESPIRE a.k.a BREATHE, but readers might know her better as an actress, from BEGINNERS).
GALVESTON stars Ben Foster as Roy (no relation), a low-level organized crime member who runs afoul of his boss (Beau Bridges) and saves a young call girl, Raquel (Elle Fanning), in the process of escaping. The two make a desperate run for it, with Raquel's little sister in tow, trying to find a way to survive and do right in the world.
I like this trailer so much better than the one that debuted in July. The story is easier to follow, and the bleakness of the circumstances are on the label. Can't wait to finally see this. GALVESTON hits U.S. theatres October 19th.
