Jacques Audiard's "THE SISTERS BROTHERS" Stars Joaquin Phoenix, John C. Reilly, & Jake Gyllenhaal TRAILER & POSTER

 Hola Dannie aqui,

AICN got sent the poster and trailer for "THE SISTERS BROTHERS" a new film from the acclaimed director Jacques Audiard who brought us "Rust and Bone," "Read My Lips," "A Prophet," "A Self-made Hero," and "Dheepan." The film is based on the novel by Patrick Dewitt and Audiard penned the screenplay with the help of Thomas Bidegain. Audiard and Bidegain have a list of projects that they have worked together on such as "A Prophet" and "Rust and Bone."  Bidegain is also known for his work on "Les Cowboys," "La Famille Bélier," and "Saint Laurent." The film stars Joaquin Phoenix ("Walk The Line") and John C. Reilly ("Magnolia").

Annapurna Pictures describes the film as-

"It is 1851, and Charlie and Eli Sisters (Joaquin Phoenix and John C. Reilly) are both brothers and assassins, boys grown to men in a savage and hostile world. They have blood on their hands: that of criminals, that of innocents...and they know no state of existence other than being gunmen. The older of the two, introspective Eli (Reilly) rides hard with his younger sibling yet dares to dream of a normal life. The younger of the two, hard-drinking Charlie (Phoenix) has taken charge with gusto as the lead man on the duo's assignments. Each increasing questions, and quibbles with, the other's methods."

"The Sisters brothers find themselves on a journey through the Northwest, bringing them to the mountains of Oregon, a dangerous brothel in the small town of Mayfield, and eventually, the Gold Rush land of California - a journey that will test the deadly family ties that bind. But, can it also be the path to rediscovering what remains of their humanity?"

Here is the hilariously homicidal trailer for "THE SISTERS BROTHERS."  Read on for more information.

"THE SISTERS BROTHERS" also stars Jake Gyllenhaal ("Donnie Darko") as learned scout John Morris, and Riz Ahmed ("Four Lions") as fugitive chemist Hermann Kermit Warm.

I think the film looks like it will be a root'em toot'em shoot-'em-up fun western romp, and I love the cast! Director Jacques Audiard's "THE SISTERS BROTHERS" will premiere this Sunday, September 2nd at the Venice Film Festival before heading to the Toronto International Film Festival next weekend. The film hits U.S. cinemas in New York and Los Angeles on September 21st. What do all of you cyber-cowboys and techno-cattlewomen out there wrangling the world wide web think of this trailer did it hit y'alls bullseye?
