A couple days back THEWRAP.COM broke news that Damon Herriman would play Charles Manson in Quentin Tarantino’s ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD.
COLLIDER.COM reports today that he’s not only already been cast, by David Fincher as Charles Manson for the 2nd season of Netflix’s MINDHUNTER series. He’s already filmed his scenes for the series. Makes a man wonder if QT got a peek at the casting and knew he had his cult leader. MINDHUNTER will have Damon playing Manson in the 80’s when he was already cell bound whereas ONCE ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD is centered on 1969 Manson and his followers murders.
MINDHUNTER will also have the Son of Sam in its 2nd season along with the BTK Killer, who was always lurking in season 1.
I know they won’t. I truly do. But, I still want to see these two worlds collide somehow. Create a Marvel universe centered on Damon Herriman as Manson cameos. Maybe have Manson act like Tony Clifton and get upset when people call him Damon. Promise I’m done. I should have been a publicist (that got fired immediately)
I know you think Damon Herriman is like the new Daniel Radcliffe but he’s been acting steady since the 80’s. And if Quentin and Fincher see Mr. Herriman as Charles Manson then I can’t wait to be mesmerized by his portrayal I put that much stock in their casting.
Anyone excited with this casting news on MINDHUNTERS 2nd season?
There’s no telling when the 2nd season is coming, so it may not air before QT’s ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD. At this point, I think it would benefit the show to wait until after the earlier version came out and then we see Manson 20 years later with the added symbolism etched in his forehead.
The man was obviously madder than a hatter yet in a mesmerizing way. There was just something absolutely spellbinding about the man, from his spastic movements to his grandiose speeches. He’s that car crash you can’t take your eyes off of, horrified yet unable to peel your eyes away.
