Today we have a special featurette for "The Nun" the latest film in a horror series that includes "Annabelle," "Annabelle: Creation," "The Conjuring," and "The Conjuring 2." James Wan director of "The Conjuring," and "The Conjuring 2" is producing "The Nun" with Peter Safran. Safran has produced all of the films in "The Conjuring" franchise. In this featurette, we hear from filmmaker James Wan and "The Nuns" director Corin Hardy as they talk about linking all of the stories and expanding on their horrific universe. Corin Hardy you all may remember from his work on 2015's visually macabre feature film "The Hallow." Hardy also has a slew of short films all of which are worth a watch; they are "John Newman: Losing Sleep," Devlin Feat. Ed Sheeran: (All Along The) Watchtower," "In The Back," "Biffy Clyro 'God & Satan,'" Olly Murs Feat. Rizzle Kicks: Heart Skips a Beat," Paolo Nutini 'Pencil Full of Lead,'" "The Prodigy: Warrior's Dance," "The Horrors 'She Is the New Thing,'" "Strangers," and his first project "Butterfly."
"The Nun" stars one of my favorite Mexican actors and an Oscar nominee for his work in "A Better Life" Demian Bichir. Some of my favorite Bichir films are "Sexo, Pudor, y Làgrimas," director Àlex de la Iglesia's "Dance with the Devil" (original title-Perdita Durango), "Todo El Poder," "Don't Tempt Me" (original title- "Sin Noticias de Dios"), 2008's "CHE" both part 1 & 2, Oliver Stones "Savages," Q.T.'s "The Hateful Eight," "Alien: Covenant," and of course "Machete Kills." Starring alongside Bichir are Bonnie Aarons, reprising her “Conjuring 2” role as the title character, Ingrid Bisu (“Toni Erdmann”), Charlotte Hope (TV’s “Game of Thrones”), Jonas Bloquet (“Elle”), and Taissa Farmiga (TV’s “American Horror Story”).
The screenplay for "The Nun" is penned by James Wan and Gary Dauberman ("It," "Annabelle," and "Annabelle: Creation") both who have a good footing in the conjuring franchise. "The Nun" will be possessing theaters on September 7, 2018, I love nun horror films, and basically all Nunsploitation, so you all know I will be there with bells on.
