Should a decade-old parcel of tasteless Twitter jokes deprive the world of more movies written and directed by James Gunn?
When Roseanne Barr made her remarks about former Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett, Barr’s co-stars were quick to back Disney’s decision to fire her. Gunn is not getting the same treatment from the actors with whom he’s worked.
Dave “Drax” Bautista says what’s happening to his “Guardians of the Galaxy” director is “not OK.”
Hundreds of thousands of non-thespians agree.
The creator of the petition writes:
… if you do this to Gunn you have to do it for all the other directors who have said some crappy joke sometime in their life, which is all of them, cause I doubt there's one human on this planet who hasn't made a shitty joke once or twice in [his or her] life.
Four days ago the petition had three signatures. Last I checked it had north of 250,000.
