"The Miseducation of Cameron Post" Trailer

 Hola Dannie aqui,

Today brings us a trailer for "The Miseducation of Cameron Post" a film directed by Desiree Akhavan who directed "Appropriate Behaviour" and worked  directing on televisions "The Slope." The film follows the young character Cameron Post (actress Chloë Grace Moretz) who is forced by her crazy guardians to live at a gay conversion "therapy" religious camp. I have seen some pretty bad documentaries on some of these hell holes, ones where kids were extremely abused both physically and mentally. The trailer makes it look kinda like a group of friends trying to make the best of their situation, and then at least one attempt at an escape.

Chloë Grace Moretz got her start on televisions "The Guardian" back in 2004 and went on to star in 2005's "The Amityville Horror," later "Let Me In," "Hugo," "The Equalizer," "Bolt," and the never to be seen "Daddy, I Love You." However, I will always remember her as Hit-Girl from "Kick-Ass" 1 & 2, my son was ten at the time, and she became his first crush, not the actress the character she played.

Here is the trailer let us know what you out there in Geeklandia think of this and subject the matter!

The film is based on the 2012 novel of the same name by Emily M. Danforth. Danforth has said she loosely based the story on the news story reported back in 2005 about a young man named Zach Stark who was sent to a "de-gaying camp" called Refuge run by Love In Action, a national controversy followed when word got out about the allegations of abuse and neglect at the camp. The allegations were investigated later, but no evidence was found, so L.I.A. continues to offer their "conversion therapies" to families however now only if the child agrees. One documentary on L.I.A. is "This is What Love In Action Looks Like" by director Morgan Jon Fox.

Well, this is a serious film, the trailer seems to show the lightheartedness humans, especially youngsters, use to survive specific traumas, cynicism being a necessary tool in life for all of us. "The Miseducation of Cameron Post" hits theaters on August 3rd I will be there, will you?

Stay Strong, Live Good, Love Movies!
