SUMMER OF 84 trailer mixes nostalgia with dread!

The filmmaking collective of RKSS (François Simard, Anouk Whissell, and Yoann-Karl Whissell) had a memorable cult hit in 2015 with their post-apocalyptic action comedy, TURBO KID. The film was a genre-bending romp that replaced the typical post-apocalyptic imagery of gas guzzling cars and brutality with  BMX bikes, colorful imagery, and cartoonish violence. It marked RKSS as a  directorial force to take note of for the future.

Well, RKSS is back with their new film SUMMER OF 84. Their new film looks to continue on the themes of the first film but this time they are looking back to the nostalgic past. Here's the official synopsis:

Summer, 1984: The perfect time to be 15 years old and care free. But when neighborhood conspiracy theorist Davey Armstrong begins to suspect his police officer neighbor might be the serial killer all over the local news, he and his three best friends begin an investigation that soon turns dangerous.

Here is the recently released trailer. Let's check it out:

That's an effective trailer that really sells what the movie's about. I had the privilege to see this earlier in the year (review coming soon) and I can say that this is one that horror fans will definitely want to check out.

SUMMER of 84 will In Theaters August 10, and On Demand / Digital HD August 24, 2018
