Hey folks, here's a trailer for vigilante/payback flick PEPPERMINT, written by Chad St. John (LONDON HAS FALLEN) and directed by Pierre Morel (TAKEN).
PEPPERMINT stars Jennifer Garner as a woman who loses her daughter and husband to a drive-by shooting. When she discovers that the justice system is already deeply in the pockets of a Mexican drug cartel responsible for the murder of her family, she disappears for five years, returning with the skill sets needed to take down a vicious cartel.
I like this approach to an obsessed vigilante... it makes sense. Showing up on mean streets with the first handgun you can find and no training is an excellent way to get killed; if you've never fired a gun before, going into battle with a few weapons and no plan whilst carrying on with their day-to-day life is pretty stupid. But someone willing to let go of their life and identity to build a revenge plan over half a decade-- that's cool. The last two Death Wish remakes didn't interest me at all; this does.
PEPPERMINT opens September 7th.
