The Film That Tried To Kill Terry Gilliam- Good News - Gilliam lives to film another day!

Thanks to everyone for joining me today, this is Mad Dashiell-

THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE, has been locked in an ongoing legal uproar over the ownership of the film. If you follow The Man Who Killed Don Quixote @quixotemovie, on Twitter then you already know the good news.

"We are delighted to announce that @TerryGilliam and his film #TheManWhoKilledDonQuixote will be at @Festival_Cannes on May 19th for the closing film of the festival. The judge said YES. #QuixoteVive"

To say that. THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE has had a tortured production history is certainly one way to put it. Others would say the curse of Cervantes lives on.

Gilliam told us during the 2016 Cannes Film Festival that he will finally see his passion project through with an October 2016 production start. Gilliam kept trying to get the film rolling eight times prior. His maddening vision has been growing in cycles through it's cryogenic Gilliam brain incubation phase for ages. There have been cast members such as Robert Duvall, John Hurt, Johnny Depp, and Ewan McGregor coming and going from the ruins of each unseen giant attempt. There is the documentary -LOST IN LA MANCHA, that chronicled the last epic attempt by Gilliam.

The French court dismissed a request by producer Branco last Wednesday to stop a Cannes screening of the film.

Gilliam was battling health issues(under the stressful circumstances I can't even imagine). Gilliam suffered a minor stroke over the weekend and went to the hospital. The film still crawled against all obstacles towards its premiere.

Gilliam heralds Good News From His Facebook feed-

"After days of rest and prayers to the gods, I am restored and well again. So is The Man Who Killed Don Quixote! We are legally victorious! We will go to the ball, dressed as the closing film at Festival de Cannes! May 19. Thanks for all your support. #QuixoteVive"

At that, all I can say is, Let us see some Tilting of Windmills! Mad Dashiell signing off.
