Hey folks, here's a trailer for THE YELLOW BIRDS, written by David Lowery and R.F.I. Porto, from the novel by Kevin Powers. Something about this reminds me of "Rectify"-- not so much in plot... just in tone. THE YELLOW BIRDS stars Tye Sheridan (READY PLAYER ONE, Aiden Ehrenreich (SOLO), Toni Collette (HEREDITARY), Lee Tergesen ("Oz"), Jack Huston (KILL YOUR DARLINGS), Jason Patric (THE LOST BOYS), and Jennifer Aniston (OFFICE SPACE).
The story is about Bartle (Ehrehreich) and Murph (Sheridan), two soldiers who form a bond in their unit during the Iraq war. Both are under the command of their hard-nosed sergeant, Sterling (Huston). Back on leave, Bartle makes a casual promise to Murph's mother (Aniston) to look out for him that will later haunt him. We fast forward to years later, when Bartle is back in the U.S., and Murph has been reported M.I.A. As a military investigator (Patric) gets closer to uncovering the truth, Bartle struggles with the promise he made to Murph's mother.
THE YELLOW BIRDS is in theaters June 15th.
