Most Excellent! BILL AND TED 3 May Happen!

Hey geeks!

It’s Monday! Are you feeling it? Well if not, here’s some news that may cheer you up, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are reuniting to make the third installation of Bill and Ted! There’s a lot of remakes going on these days, not so many sequels. With as much time that was passed, and the death of George Carlin (RIP), you would think that they would reboot the series, but I’m kind of glad that they are not.

I look back at the original two BILL AND TED movies rather fondly, especially the second. I was this four year old kid that got to see these two teenage blowouts go to hell, meet death and escape the afterlife. Looking back as an adult, it was all pretty silly how it was presented, but to a young kid, all of these concepts were pretty intense. It has been almost 30 years since BILL AND TED 2 came out, and I’m kind of excited for the new one. Apparently there was also a cartoon and a live-action TV spinoff, neither of which I saw.

Writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon describe the new BILL AND TED as sort of “Christmas Carol” type story, where Bill and Ted are now aged and are rediscovering who they were (probably by viewing the past).

I’m pleased to report that they snagged the director of GALAXY QUEST (awesome movie) for the new film, Dean Parisot.

How do you guys feel about a new BILL AND TED? If you had to choose, would you have preferred a reboot? For the full story, check it out on Entertainment Weekly!
