Oh hi, geeks!
Since Tommy Wiseau’s “disaster” THE ROOM was released in 2003, a cult following grew upon the film over the years, but as with all things, faded from our minds in time (though still held dear to some). With the release of THE DISASTER ARTIST with James Franco, Wiseau is currently back on top of the world. Before we knew it, THE ROOM is currently back in theaters across the US! Now, the weirdness of Wiseau returns to us in a new comedy thriller: BEST F(R)IENDS. Check out the trailer.
Honestly the cinematography looks far better than THE ROOM, which is promising. They did also have more music than dialogue in this trailer, possibly to hide what the dialogue is really like. Of course, I’m suspicious, I saw THE ROOM. I’m absolutely curious though, and am very intrigued with seeing this. Apparently this is based on a story about a road trip Greg Sestero took with Wiseau back in 2003.
Here’s a plot summary from IMDB:
“When a drifter (Greg Sestero) is taken in by a peculiar mortician (Tommy Wiseau), the two hatch an underground enterprise off the back of the mortician's old habits. But greed, hatred, and jealousy soon come in turn, and their efforts unravel, causing the drifter to run off with the spoils and leaving the mortician adrift. An expedition across the South West introduces wild and crazy characters through a series of twisted and dark foibles as both men learn a valuable lesson about friendship and loyalty.”
BEST F(R)IENDS Volume One (of two) is to be released in theaters across the US March 30th.
