Hey folks, Harry here. I got the following letter from a reader of ours in the land far away with a ember of hope. It seems that Jean Rochefort, the actor, who was to play the title role of Don Quixote, has seemingly recovered from his accident that had closed filming of this Gilliam project. Now I had heard quite some time ago... from a source very close to the top on this project, that it was not dead for certain.... BUT... now that Johnny Depp has committed to play Chuck Barris in CONFESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MIND... is it possible for the film to film? We'll have to wait and see....
Hey there,
Here's a tidbit that could prove to be of some interest... I haven't heard anything lately about Terry Gilliam's Don Quixote flick, but Jean Rochefort has a new movie coming out here ("Le Placard" with Daniel Auteuil and Gérard Depardieu) and he was on TV last week promoting it. Even though no one asked him anything about the Gilliam movie (some people truly have the wrong priorities), they did ask him how he was recovering from his injury. Rochefort said he was all fine and fit again. So maybe Gilliam & Co will be able to get on with it... I for one certainly hope so.
Later,
Crowe
