Precious Roy likes the trailer for the sideways-heist film A BAD IDEA GONE WRONG!

Hiya kids, Precious Roy here, with a look at a trailer for A BAD IDEA GONE WRONG.

Here's how Freestyle Digital Media describes the film:

"Leo and Marlon are trapped in their lives, working dead-end jobs, trying to find some way to make things exciting. The best idea they’ve come up with is a heist. They break into the “perfect” house, but accidentally arm the alarm system. So now they have to break out of the house they just broke into. When they discover an unexpected housesitter, they suddenly have to deal with a series of new problems: a hostage situation, double crosses, sexual tensions, and discoveries that make their difficult escape even more dubious. The three unlikely allies have to learn about one another, try to figure out who can be trusted, and find some way to work together to break out of this house."

This reminds me, in a very good way, of the Frank Whaley/Jennifer Connelly film CAREER OPPORTUNITIES. It opens with a hilariously cute reference to PULP FICTION and introduces us to our protagonists as inept crooks looking for a big score. Leo is the more sensible element suffering from a lost love; Marlon is the confident-but-dim buddy who will do just about anything you dare him to. And during their robbery, where Marlon's bungling locks them into the house, they come across a stranger, a young woman, who quickly realizes just how bad these burglars are, and become fast friends.
It's light and funny, and by the end of the trailer, seems like a bit of a magical romance, too. Initial reviews from the SXSW screening seemed to like it... I'm looking forward to seeing this one.

A BAD IDEA GONE WRONG is out this Friday, December 1st, in theaters and rent/own Digital HD, SUCKERS!

Precious Roy out!
