Behind the Scenes SHAPE OF WATER- Astro Heathen's got the Featurette here!

Hola Dannie here...
With an amazing Behind the Scenes SHAPE OF WATER featurette with Doug Jones and Del Toro. I can not wait to bask in the glow of Del Toro's latest masterpiece. Thanks to Astro Heathen for the write up!

Astro Heathen Staro here with the goods!

Guillermo del Toro has been on my radar ever since PAN'S LABYRINTH, HELLBOY and the cancelled SILENT HILLS videogame. His affinity with the beauty of monsters and ability to hold a mirror up to humanity's worst moments makes for the contemporary fairy tale, and with THE SHAPE OF WATER I sense that same magic. But what brings these tales to life?

Del Toro and Doug Jones, the trademark creature actor and former contortionist, have been working together since MIMIC of '97, truly capturing my heart with his performance as Pan. Little did I know at the time, he was also the Pale Man in the very same movie. Doug Jones' acting approach is a full body experience, and that's no different with his upcoming role of "Amphibian Man."

"I want to create a moment that will last forever. And (del Toro) is that director who can make that happen."

Del Toro is quoted to have told Doug, "You played the Silver Surfer? He's part Silver Surfer, part Matador." Still, his character has never interacted with any sort of society, and in another way neither has Sally Hawkins' mute character Eliza Esposito... all I know is this isn't going to be your conventional romance! Love is best mixed with rebellion, I say.

Signing off,
Astro Heathen aka Staro
