Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.
Garth's been gettin' crazy Aussie style all week long, with his exclusive debut of the HARRY POTTER teaser poster and yesterday's debut of the PLANET OF THE APES teaser. All I can say is Dark Horizons is kicking some ass. Maybe it's something in the water. I hope so, since I just found out I'm going to be joining Harry at the end of his Middle Earth trip for a quick two days in Australia. Some super secret spy mission I'm not supposed to say anything about. Oh, wait... DAMN! Um... forget I said anything. Forget I was here.
CHECK OUT THE PLANET OF THE APES TEASER POSTER HERE!!
RULE THE PLANET. The date. No title. Bold move, Fox. If the report over on Corona's PLANET OF THE APES page is correct, this is just one of three teaser posters. Still to come... chimpanzees and orangutans. Oh, boy. I think that design is incredible, even if the photo's fuzzy and out of focus. I can't even pretend to be cool when talking about Rick Baker makeup. If you ever meet me and want to reduce me to a pile of simpering geek in a matter of seconds, just mention Rick Baker and watch me go. In particular, I think Rick's gradual evolution of his gorilla work has been incredible. It's one of the most passionate bodies of work on a single topic we've ever seen from an effects artist. I think it places Rick in a unique place in film history. As impressed as I was with MIGHTY JOE YOUNG, I expect even more from him with this picture. Now that I've seen that one gorilla face in the war helmet, I'm in. Whatever movie Tim Burton's making, I'm in. I want more. Spoil it for me now. I want to see the sets. I am a desperate man. I can feel myself being consumed by need. Must think... of something else... like the trip to Australia...
Forget it. Geek overload. I'm not to be trusted. Just look at the pretty picture.
"Moriarty" out.
