Hal Jordan And John Stewart Focus Of GREEN LANTERN CORPS, From MAN OF STEEL/ CONSTANTINE Writer Goyer!!

I am – Hercules!!

No word yet as to whether Ryan Reynolds will be recruited to reprise the role of Green Lantern Hal Jordan, who will be the focus of “Green Lantern Corps” alongside fellow earthling Green Lantern John Stewart.

Co-scripting is David Goyer, who earned solo screenplay credit on “Man of Steel.” Goyer has collaborated on scripts for many superhero projects, starting in 1998 with “Nick Fury: Agent of Shield” and “Blade.” His subsequent superhero scripts became “Blade II,” “Blade Trinity” (the only comic-book movie Goyer has directed), “Batman Begins,” “Blade: The Series,” “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance,” NBC’s “Constantine,” and “Batman V Superman.” Goyer also shared “story” credit on “The Dark Knight” and “The Dark Knight Rises.”

Co-scripting with Goyer is Justin Rhodes, who co-wrote the 2012 Jason Biggs dramedy “Grassroots.” Goyer and Rhodes previously teamed to script a proposed remake of “Fantastic Voyage.”

In the comics John Stewart was an architect, which proved handy because the Green Lantern power-ring allows one to create objects with one’s mind. In the new movie Stewart will be a Marine sniper.

Introduced in 1971 as DC Comics’ first black superhero, Stewart was created as Hal Jordan’s “back up” Green Lantern before Stewart became Earth’s primary Green Lantern in the 1980s when Jordan stepped down from the role.

Greg Berlanti, who scripted the 2011 Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern movie before he went on to create the CW/DC TV series "Arrow," "Flash," "Supergirl" and "Legends of Tomorrow," is not be involved in "Green Lantern Corps."
