Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Well, happy days are here again! Stranger Things was a huge hit for Netflix and we pretty much knew a second season was in the works since about 3 days after the show hit Netflix and jumped immediately into our pop culture.
Now it's official. Netflix has released a teaser for Season 2 promising a 2017 release for the series. That's crazy fast, but since they're doing a legitimate follow-up and not some kind of Stranger Things anthology series (ala American Horror Story) they do have to move quickly before the kids grow out of their roles.
The Duffers have promised that Season 2 won't be a retread, but rather a pivot in tone with these characters, which sounds a whole lot like what Lucas and Spielberg wanted to do with Temple of Doom. I, naturally, whole-heartedly approve.
Especially since this new season takes place in the fall. The first season was a hodgepodge of different genres, but mostly it was in the awe and wonder area of supernatural sci-fi. If they're going for a more Something Wicked This Way Comes tone for the second season you'll see a fat man do cartwheels.
Check out the teaser below. I assume the words hitting the screen are episode titles and if so I'm already dying to see the Pumpkin Patch episode!
