With Guillermo Del Toro busy with a host of other projects, Warner Bros. has attached Doug Liman (“The Bourne Identity,” “Edge of Tomorrow”) to develop and direct “Justice League Dark.”
The print version of DC Comics’ JLD has starred Alan Moore’s working-class sorcerer John Constantine, as well as The Swamp Thing, Zatanna, The Phantom Stranger, Deadman, Tim Hunter, Black Orchid, Doctor Mist, Zauriel, Raven, Shade The Changing Man, Madame Xanadu and Frankenstein, among others).
Unlike Del Toro, Liman does not write any of his feature directorial efforts, but is active as a producer.
“Edge of Tomorrow,” the “Groundhog Day”-ish sci-fi actioner starring Tom Cruise, was awesome. Liman’s other directorial efforts include “Swingers,” “Go,” “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” “Jumper” and the 2010 Valerie Plame drama “Fair Game.”
