Hey folks, Harry here... With some very innurestin (bad spelling on purpose) regarding AARDMAN. The big news out of this scoop is that it seems to be saying that the 'style' of character design will take on a different look... and not be that traditional... AARDMAN look that we have all come to love. I have no doubt that they'll do something spectacular... but it is intriguing that they will be moving stylistically in a different direction. ALSO... it seems they are contemplating a possible CHICKEN RUN sequel, but they said there WILL be a CGI version... Hmmmm, would this be PDI? Or would it be farmed out as a quick to release like the recent PRINCE OF EGYPT followup that came out. Hmmm... Intriguing!

I'm a British spy who has some Aardman news for you Harry. OK I'm not a spy but an A-level student, but give me credit for trying. Well today you would not believe who we had come over and visit our Communication and Media studies group, it was Dave Riddett (director of photography) and his work mate Andy Mac (dont know what he does) from Aardman animations! It was a great day, with lots of clips from all the adverts and films they have done. After, we got to grill them with loads of questions, and me being a HUGE film buff wanted all the juicy gossip.
Here is what I managed to find out-
1) Their next film Tortoise and the Hare will start shooting in Feb 2001 as they are still currently doing production and story-board work on it.
2) They only named two voices in it, Paul whitehouse and recently Knighted Michael Caine. They wouldn't say any more!
3) It's going to be very different than what they have done before, i.e. it's not going to have people with HUGE wide mouths, or eyes extremely close together!
Now for something more interesting, that isn't about their The tortoise and the hare!
I asked the question, "now that you've done three Wallace and Gromit Films, will you be planning on doing a sequel to Chicken Run?" They replied saying POSSIBLY! They would like to, only if the idea is there. They know the Americans would love them to, but only if there is a good enough story! Well at least he didn't completely dismiss the idea. However he did tell us that a CGI version of chicken run is going to happen! Finally they hinted that they really want to get on and do a proper cinema release version of Wallace and Gromit, something everyone wants to see.
