Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. While we've hit some Spielberg already, this relaunch of the BTS column has yet to include anything from Indiana Jones. Since we're way past due, I figured I'd run with one of my all-time favorite pics from the making of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
There are many types of behind the scenes pictures. Some that are perfectly staged to show the crew capturing a shot, some that are all about an effect being executed and then there are some that are rare, candid looks at the actors or crew. I love all of them, but there's something special about the latter.
Today's pic is of the candid variety and shows Harrison Ford taking a breather during the big air plane sequence from the film. Everything about the body language, the desert dust on his shoes and the look on his face tells you all you need to know about how hot it was while filming this and how exhausting it was to make this legendary sequence a reality. You could never tell in the finished film.
So, here you go. A portrait of a man, his whip and that time he bare knuckle boxed a big ol' Nazi dude.
Tomorrow's pic is newer. In fact it's so new, the movie hasn't even come out yet, but I promise you'll love it too, (Boo Bop Bopbop Bop).
