‘Raped *And* Murdered!!’ Hercules Endorses Tonight’s Reubens-Enhanced GOTHAM!!

I am – Hercules!!

Gotham 2.16 FAQ

What’s it called?
“Prisoners.”

Who’s responsible?
Teleplay is credited to Danny Cannon (“CSI,” “Dark Blue”).

What says Fox?
“After Gordon is removed from protective custody, he begins to face new threats and dangers inside prison walls. In order to survive, he must rely on a new friend, as well as Bullock and other outside help. Meanwhile, Penguin grows closer to his father, while his step-mother and step-siblings move forward with their own plans for the family.”

How does it start?
“On your feet! Let’s go!” a guard yells at the future Gotham police commissioner. We then get a surprisingly rape-free montage of how Gordon spends his days and nights in stir. Then Gordon gets transferred from Protective Custory to General Population.

Does Nygma this week paste a giant felt question mark on a unitard?
Not this week.

So Penguin’s new family isn’t working for Hugo Strange?
It seems not. The fly in Cobblepot’s ointment is stepkids Sasha and Charles seem resentful of Oswald, who is the wealthy and ailing Elijah Van Dahl’s only living blood relative.

What’s doing with Batboy, Catgirl and Alfred?
They are wholly absent this week.

Any sign of Harvey Dent, Crispis Allen, Renee Montoya or Ivy Pepper this week?
None.

The big news?
A character we’ve not seen since season one reappears.

Is it Fish Mooney?
It is not Fish Mooney.

What else is Fox not telling us?
Gordon’s warden turns out to be a good friend of former police commissioner Loeb. Penguin’s dad has a monocle on his person, just as he did in “Batman Returns.” And I would swear this episode was shot on the same prison set employed by the second season of Marvel’s “Daredevil.”

What’s good?
Paul Reubens as Papa Penguin generally and his reading of “Gotham’s history” in particular. Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald. Ben McKenzie as Jim Gordon. Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock. Kaley Ronayne, Justin Mark and Melinda Clarke as the younger Van Dahls. Sasha Van Dahl’s mission failure. “I know what kind of man you are.” “To be fair, I never raped anybody.” “Should I try?” “Glue traps?” “Where are they when you need them?”

What’s not so good?
No Morena Baccarin.

How does it end, spoiler boy?
“He’s gone,” announces Bullock.

8 p.m. Monday. Fox.
