Hey guys! Horrorella here...
I've got a creepy trailer for you tonight, for a film that is going to plunk you right back to that time when you were a kid and you had to sleep with the hallway light on because god only knows what could be lurking in the shadows, waiting to pounce.
If you're already familiar with David F. Sandberg's short "Lights Out," then you're already pretty damn excited about this new flick. The short is amazing, focusing simply on a barely seen, yet all too present Thing that creeps up on a woman alone in her house one evening. Sandberg is working with writer Eric A. Heisserer (THE THING remake, FINAL DESTINATION 5, HOURS) to flesh out the concept and build a narrative around it.
When Rebecca left home, she thought she left her childhood fears behind. Growing up, she was never really sure of what was and wasn’t real when the lights went out…and now her little brother, Martin, is experiencing the same unexplained and terrifying events that had once tested her sanity and threatened her safety. A frightening entity with a mysterious attachment to their mother, Sophie, has reemerged. But this time, as Rebecca gets closer to unlocking the truth, there is no denying that all their lives are in danger…once the lights go out.
Check out the trailer below.
If that's not creepy enough, top that creepstastic sundae with the cherry of frightmaster James Wan producing the film. Yes, please. LIGHTS OUT i s slated for release on July 22nd, and following the James Wan-directed THE CONJURING 2 (brand spankin' new trailer here) on June 10th. Not a bad looking summer for horror.
And if you need a little taste, turn out your lights and check out the original short.
