OH BROTHER WHERE ART THOU music

Hey folks, Harry here.... Seems like ol Joel and Ethan Coen have got themselves a pretty darn tootin cool website for OH BROTHER WHERE ART THOU.... If you go in the FLASH way to Obrother.Net you will see an old style radio tuner.... that's how you navigate... then there's this old jukebox style interface to get samples of all the music tracks in the film.... Sweet stuff... Ol Johnny Wad and Junior Mintz are going to flip like flapjacks over this stuff... maybe I oughta hook them two up some day. Hmmmm....

Hi Harry,

Seems these gods among film legends are going unnoticed on-line. Well, they've never done much in terms of web-sites (did you see The Big Labowski site? Sucked!!!). I just stumbled on the site for their new film, obrother.net. Very cool, tons of stuff. Highlight is a FLASH music jukebox with every song from the soundtrack, but what really sold me on the site is the navigational radio... well, best to see it first hand. I will give away that the entire site has a 1930's feel (a bit of a film spoiler?). Hidden things can be found by clicking the Dapper Dan tins scattered through the site (something to do with the George Clooney character), which gives good reason to check out the cast and crew bios, as there are tons of these tins in there, even one for the film editor RODERICK JAYNES (really just another name for the Coen's themselves) where if you click the tin (below the nude painting of Margaret Thatcher), you get behind the scene photos.

I also like being offered gopher (in another Dapper tin).

One thing that sucked was it doesn't seem to be finished. If you try going into the HTML version, there's nothing there yet. FLASH is great but not everyone has it. I've got it, but on a 56 modem, it's rarely the first side of a site I check out. This site happens to be worth it, but most aren't and are just massive time wasters (on a slow connection, anyway). Maybe this'll be fixed soon, but this did bother me. Anyways....

I was sold on the Coen's already, so I might be biased, but the FLASH side of the site does its job: I want to see the movie.

All the best,

D. Falk
