Two ubercrappy, low-rated Syfy series – “Defiance” and “Dominion – just got cancelled.
“Defiance,” the tale of a post-apocalyptic Earth city shared by humans and a host of extraterrestrial races, had three writer-creators: Rockne S. O’Bannon (“Farscape”), Michael Taylor (“Battlestar Galactica”) and Kevin Murphy (“Desperate Housewives,” “Hellcats”), but it looks like Murphy is the only one who stuck around.
“Dominion” was the series sequel to the 2010 Paul Bettany Angry Angel movie “Legion.” It followed humans struggling to survive in what’s left of Las Vegas following a very long war between factions of angels.
Both shows rarely made the lists of top 100 highest-rated cable shows on the nights they aired.
“Defiance” aired its final episode Aug. 28. “Dominion” aired its final episode Oct. 1.
