The Playlist has released the first trailer for WHITEWASH, starring Thomas Haden Churck in anticipating of the film's U.S. release next month. From writer/director Emanuel Hoss-Desmarais, WHITEWASH tells the story of a loner tow-truck driver in rural Quebec, who accidentally kills a man one drunken evening. In his panicked attempt to cover up the the crime, he sees his life begin to fall apart as he struggles to keep the secret, while learning more about the victim and the circumstances that brought them together.
The trailer offers plenty to like - a rural-set noir thriller, steeped in plenty of atmosphere and mystery, but darkly comedic as well. Very much in the vein of the Coen Brothers, or even Sam Raimi's A SIMPLE PLAN. I'm really intrigued to see how it all plays out.
WHITEWASH opens on VOD on May 2nd.
