SANDMAN Adaptation Finds its Writer!

Hey guys! Horrorella here...

While there has been tons of talk over the years about how to properly adapt Neil Gaiman's seminal SANDMAN works to the big screen (as well as whether or not such a feat is even possible/a good idea), the latest iteration seems to be moving forward.

David Goyer initially approached Warner Bros. with an idea for turning the property into a film (with the potential to launch a massive new franchise), and not long after, it was announced that Joseph Gordon-Levitt had been brought on board as co-producer (and maybe star, and maybe director).

One thing seems to be certain though - the project has found its writer. Deadline reports that Jack Thorne has been brought aboard to script the film, based on a treatment from Goyer.

While he hasn't written anything as high concept as SANDMAN, he has worked on successful television projects in the U.K, including SKINS and THIS IS ENGLAND, as well as the films HOW I LIVE NOW and the adaptation of Nick Hornby's novel, A LONG WAY DOWN.

Do you think he's ready to take on Morpheus and the rest of The Endless?
