El Cosmico here with a bit of a...surprise. A good surprise? A not-so-good surprise? Only time will tell...Variety is reporting that Spyglass Entertainment, a Disney (whee!) company, is set to do a remake of Roberto Benigni's IL MOSTRO, in which Roberto's character is mistakenly thought to be a wanted criminal, pursued by a policewoman he falls in love with.
I loved IL MOSTRO, and you can still catch it occasionally on the Sundance channel or Encore, I also like the Tom Green show, but I have to admit that this particular mixture is not one I would have ever conceived of on my own. Green is said to be writing his own adaptation, which, I suppose, if sufficiently different, and not including the Bum Bum song, could be enjoyable. We shall see. In the mean time, you can catch the antics of Mr. Green in "Road Trip" this May 19.
