Hey folks, Harry here with that IWIWCN bloke.... who seems to be a racing fetishist, and happened to catch some updates about Stallone's vroooom movie. Seems that they've been all over the country shooting races and gathering up stock footage for the film. Groovy. So, here ya go...

Got a little more on Sly Stallone's CHAMPS. According to ESPN today, he has already has started shooting, collecting footage at each venue during the season. This weekend they are in Long Beach, California. The organizers of the CART series are orgasmic about the up coming flick, especally due to the fact that the series will be making at least one stop in Europe for the first time next year (the movie would give a nice into to oval racing).
However, according to the article, not everybody was pleased to see "Sly" and his crew, though. "They're getting in everybody's way, and they don't care at all," said one photographer, who asked not to be identified.
The majority of the film will be shot this Summer at Homestead Raceway in Miami, the track that held the first race of the season.
Sly said that he wants this to be "The Definitive Racing Movie". He better make it so, or he'll have to answer to me. We don't need another DAYS OF THUNDER or STROKER ACE or even SIX PACK.
For the Star Wars obsessed, George Lucas drove in a Pro-Am Race this morning. They may show highlights during the main race later today.
