On Friday, March 23, esteemed actor Dexter Fletcher's directorial debut, WILD BILL, is released in cinemas across the UK. With a cast of prominent British stars (Jason Flemyng, Andy Serkis, KILL LIST's Neil Maskell) and fresh, up-and-coming talent (Jaime Winstone, Leo Gregory), WILD BILL is the story of Bill Hayward (Charlie Creed-Miles), a man who leaves prison after nearly a decade and is forced to reconnect with his two estranged sons after they're abandoned by their mother. With criminal opportunities popping up wherever he looks and his former cohorts rearing their ugly heads, Bill, determined not to return to prison, must make an impossible decision to save his family.
The film had its world premiere at the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain last autumn and has garnered rave reviews. I personally haven't seen it yet, but am greatly looking forward to it. 2011 proved to be an incredible year for British cinema with the likes of TYRANNOSAUR and the aforementioned KILL LIST, so let's hope 2012 can rival it with WILD BILL et al.
Here's an AICN-exclusive interview clip with one of the film's younger stars, Billy Holland, who makes his feature film debut in the movie. It's short, but definitely very sweet!
