‘Oh My Lord!!’
Hercules Implores: Do Not Miss Tonight’s Midseason JUSTIFIED!!

I am – Hercules!!

Justified 3.7 FAQ

What’s it called?
“The Man Behind The Curtain.”

Who’s responsible?
Teleplay is credited to Ryan Farley (“Cold Case,” “Chase”).

Is it any good?
Oh yes. This is shaping up to be my favorite season of “Justified” yet.

What says FX?
“As his feud with Quarles and the Detroit mob heats up, Raylan’s tactics put him at odds with the FBI.”

How does it start?
Arlo Givens demands a meeting with Ellstin Limehouse.

Is Quarles’ gimp still tied to the bed?
This week we learn all we need to know about that.

The big news?
Yet another character we’ve not seen since season two turns up.

What else is FX not telling us?
Three veteran actors this week make their “Justified” debuts as major new players. Stephen Tobolowsky, on loan from “Glee,” arrives as Special Agent Barkley. David Andrews, who played Frank Borman in “From The Earth To The Moon,” debuts as Sheriff Tillman Napier. And former “Homicide” regular Max Perlich turns up as non-lawman Sammy Tonin. Expect any who survive this episode to recur.

What of Winona and Ava?
Not much. Ava appears briefly to tend Boyd’s bar, if you will. Winona is wholly absent this week.

Any sign of Dickie or Dewey?
Neither hide nor hair.

What’s great?
The show’s willingness to put some cash in the pockets of the Warren Zevon estate. Timothy Olyphant. Neal McDonough. Mykelti Williamson. Jere Burns. Walton Goggins. Raylan’s description of Quarles. The scene that brings together Raylan, Art, Gutterson and Barkley. Raylan’s introduction to Sammy Tonin. One of the best Raylan-Boyd scenes in the series’ history. “Not enough closet space.” “Paint the room.” “Oh my lord; I think you swallowed a peanut the wrong way.” “More of a wind-instrument man, I reckon.” Quarles’ reply to the question, “What’s in here?”

What’s not so great?
Yet another episode sans Winona. (She’s back next week.)

How does it end, spoiler boy?
Quarles tells his troubles to a man in a bar.

10 p.m. Tuesday. FX.
