Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I seem to say this with any Tintin post, but I'm blissfully ignorant of almost everything Tintin. I say blissfully ignorant (and not just straight up ignorant) because that means I get to be introduced to this world by the likes of Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson, Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish.
I love the look of the image today... it has mood, atmosphere and is in that in-between world of stylistic animation and photo-real that gives me hope that the typical pitfalls of performance capture might be avoided. Are dead-eyes and not-quite-syncing mouths as noticeable in a stylistic world? I don't think so.
At any rate, Spielberg directing another high adventure story is good news, even if it's animated.
