Here's a look at the poster for Julie Taymor's TEMPEST, another spin on Shakespeare's work
. Russell Brand, Alfred Molina (Satipo in RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, Doc Ock in SPIDER-MAN 2), Helen Mirren, Djimon Hounsou, Chris Cooper, Alan Cumming, David Strathairn, and Tom Conti star.
This is Taymor's first film since ACROSS THE UNIVERSE back in 2007, although she's been busy working with Bono and The Edge on a SPIDER-MAN Broadway musical, which previews November 14 and opens on December 21 (website and tickets HERE).
Here's the poster. Not stellar, but it has personality, distinctiveness, and mood. I kinda like it. It is EMBIGGEN THIS!
We ran a review of TEMPEST from a reader who attended a very early screening back in June (HERE). Viper X, our reader/reviewer, targeted one particular performer:
Faults of this movie include some motherfucker named Reeve Carney who must have blown several people to land the role of Ferdinand. Imagine a plank of wood.
Troubling if true, especially since Carney is Peter Parker in that SPIDER-MAN musical I mentioned above. At the very ,very least, Taymor is always interesting...it'll be fun seeing how all of this turns out.
