The big news is not what’s out this week, but rather that Image finally announced Twilight Zone’s first season finally hits Blu-ray on Sept. 14. To anticipate the question, all but six of the original 156 “Twilight Zone” episodes were (like the “Star Trek” episodes filmed not long after) shot on 35mm film, which carries a considerably higher resolution than 1080p video, so the quality for the home viewer should prove unprecedented.

“Everwood’s” third season, streeting today, is blissfully free of scripts by the series’ creator, talentless former “Dawson’s Creek” showrunner Greg Berlanti (“Brothers & Sisters”). Season three of “Everwood,” streeting today, was steered instead by gifted Rina Mimoun (“Gilmore Girls,” “Pushing Daisies”), and picks up after the ill-considered deal struck by town doc Andy Brown and his horny nanny Madison Kellner. Scott Wolf (“V”) joins the cast as Dr. Jake Hartman, Andy’s sort-of romantic rival. Of greater interest is Sarah Drew (“Grey’s Anatomy”), who turns up as troubled town newcomer Hannah Rogers. Anne Heche (“Hung”) does 10 episodes over the third season as married but horny “local saint” Amanda Hayes. The main reason to jump on this series, as always, is the always-entertaining Chris Pratt (“Parks and Recreation”) as Amy’s slacker brother Bright.
