This is something we tried to post yesterday, but Super-evil Techno Gremlins From Beyond Hell scuttled our ability to post stories through much of the day.
Nonetheless, we thought you might like to take a look at five + minutes from Dean Devlin's FLYBOYS. This footage has lotsa WWI aerial action -- which (for the most part) seems aiight-to-quite cool; the sequence's final moment is rather nice.
On a technical level, I'm curious as to whether or not WWI guns left smoke trails in their slipstream, or if that's just a visual gimmick to help the audience sense the "jeopardy" of encroaching streams of death? I know what tracer fire is...is this the same principle? Anyone? Bueller?
How the entirety of this film shakes out is still a big question mark -- many consider it suspect based on the trailer (also available via the link below). Personally, I'm really curious & think it might be sorta fun(ish).
