Well the second movie has me and Tom Joad ready to pull out a few Sybil Danning and Samantha Fox flicks. You know the genre of WOMEN'S PRISON ESCAPE Flicks has been vastly overlooked as of late. I mean damn, it has so much potential as a genre to uplift our society as a whole. Well here ya go...
I thought I'd tell you about some other cool scripts I covered.
"Map of the World"
is a very, very high-quality, dramatic, disturbing and complex movie, sure to garner some serious Oscar nominations. Stars Sigourney Weaver and Julianne Moore, both of whom are no stranger to Mr. Oscar. They play best friends living in rural wisconsin somewhere, and their lives are totally fucked up after Julianne's daughter drowns while under the care of Sigourney. Then things get even more fucked up when Sigourney, the nurse at the local elementary school, gets falsely accused of sexually molesting some little schoolchildren. Talk about some heavy-assed material! Script is written by this guy Peter Hedges, who I believe wrote the book "What's Eating Gilbert Grape", but the original "Map of the World" is a book written by some lady, I forget who. Anyway, this script is super-tight, totally well written and heart-wrenching, and all that. Combined with super-uber-class-A talents like Sigourney and Julianne, who are definitely two of the fuckin coolest, super-pro actresses out there, this should be a winner.
"Confessions of a Trickbaby"
-- this is the fast, furious, ultra-violent new movie from Matthew Bright, the guy who brought us the vastly entertaining, heinous, and totally underrated film called "Freeway" starring hot babe Reese Witherspoon. While "Freeway" was an ultra-violent twist on the "Little Red Riding Hood" fable, then "Trickbaby" is an ultra-violent twist on "Hansel & Gretel". Instead of an innocent boy and girl lost in the woods, looking for that wacky candy house and the nice lady inside (who is actually a freaky witch) we get two girls--both just escaped from prison. The lead girl is called "White Girl" (played by super-talented, ultra-cool Natasha Lyonne), and her sidekick is an extremely "loco" (as in totally psychotic, homicidal, sociopathic) Latina chick (or a "chola", as she's called in the script) named "Cyclona" who was arrested for killing her entire family with an axe, or something. Anyway, they break out of jail and try to make a run for the border, hoping to find Cyclona's Fairy Godmother (and yes, she does wind up being a witch, but trust me, it's WAY more fucked up than some Grimm Fairy Tale!) The plot involves several gruesome murders, glue-sniffing, stabbing, rape, child-murders and kiddie porn, freaky cults, and even cannibalism! Holy shit, this movie was one high-octane, mind-blowing, pushing the envelope of good taste type of freak-fest. Loved it! I couldn't believe the nasty, gnarly places this script went, and I'm sure the movie will be twice as much fun. Oh yeah, and there's also a hot lesbian sex scene between the two leading ladies. Any interest yet, you Texan horn-dog??
Catch ya later Harry,
