Hey folks, Harry here... As a member of the amazing team that brought you FANTASTIC FEST last October, I'm proud to announce FANTASTIC FEST 2006. I just got back from SXSW 2006 registration, and I'm all set to do a 10th Anniversary Panel with Moriarty and Quint on Tuesday at 11am. There's a whole host of cool movies playing at SXSW, and tonight is the TEXAS FILMMAKER'S HALL OF FAME, and I can't wait to get to that. BUT... It is never too early to talk about FANTASTIC FEST. We're expanding it out to a full week from the 3 & a half days of last year. Also the beginning of Film submissions have begun. In addition to those submitted films, our team is scowering the world looking to invite the best and brightest and coolest of those unseen gems to load up this year's fest. We may be a new fest, but we're a Fantastic Fest and I can't wait to see some of y'all there. And this is the cheapest admission price that'll be offered. So here ya go...

Tim here from the Alamo Drafthouse. As you know I just got back from Portugal on a fruitful scouting mission for Fantastic Fest 2006. Fantastic Fest is a horror/sci-fi/fantasy/genre film festival in Austin, Texas. This year, we are expanding the festival to seven days and adding lots of great film programming, parties and special events and celebrity guests.
Last year's fest featured premiere screenings of FEAST with John Gulager and Chris Moore live in person, Zathura with John Favreau and Dax Shepard live in person, the premiere of Sin City: The Director's Cut, and 30 other regional or national premiere genre films. With the addition of 3 more days, look for an incredible mix of the most anticipated genre films of the year.
The dates for the festival are September 21-28, 2006. The event will be held primarily at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar, with select screenings at the Alamo Drafthouse Downtown.
